Calling all movie lovers! The Museum of Riverside continues its new series, Movies on the Lawn: Made in Riverside, featuring films shot in and around the city. The series takes place on the third Friday of every month.
This month's feature, "Test Pilot," stars Hollywood golden-era giants Clark Gable, Myrna Loy, and Spencer Tracy. It combines vintage Romantic Comedy and Action Buddy genres. The film received several Academy Awards nominations in 1939, including Best Picture.
The film was shot over March Air Reserve Base in 1938. The Museum of Riverside hopes the series will allow people to rediscover their local history and culture through film. Many of the scenes were filmed in collaboration with local artists and filmmakers, and the locations and characters in the movie can easily be identified by Riversiders of the era.
Join the fun with the Museum of Riverside as they host Movies on the Lawn: Made in Riverside at the historic Heritage House (8193 Magnolia Avenue)
