More than 100 Bank of America employees from Riverside and San Bernardino counties collected over 13,000 diapers and wipes for the Diaper Bank of the Inland Empire. The donation drive, spanning 25 local branches, addresses a critical need as one in two families with infants struggle to afford adequate diapers.
Driving the news: The Diaper Bank of the Inland Empire, recently becoming a standalone nonprofit due to overwhelming demand, distributes over 30,000 diapers monthly to families in need.
The organization operates under the philosophy that "access to diapers is a right, not a privilege."
Why it matters: Rising costs have made it increasingly difficult for families to afford basic necessities, with diaper insecurity affecting half of the families with infants in the region.
The donated supplies will directly support families relying on the organization's services throughout Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
The impact: Jessica Adams, consumer vice president at Bank of America and employee volunteer coordinator, describes the gratitude and relief expressed by families receiving these essential items.
The experience has inspired the team to start planning their next drive.
Go deeper: Families in need of assistance or individuals interested in volunteering or donating can visit the Diaper Bank of the Inland Empire at www.diaperbankie.org.

A Riverside family takes center stage in "Homeschooled," a new documentary exploring the world of home education. The film, now streaming on major platforms, offers an intimate look at families who choose to educate their children outside traditional school systems.
Driving the news: Tilly Paasch, a Riverside teenager, is one of the main subjects featured in the documentary directed by Forbes 30 Under 30 alum Niki Koss and produced by multi-Academy Award winner J. Todd Harris.
The film follows several families, including the Paasches, who live on a citrus farm in Riverside.
Why it matters: The documentary provides a "thoughtful, grounded look" at homeschooling, according to associate producer Cheryl Bauder, offering viewers insight into the real-life implications of this educational choice.
The impact: Participating in the film has had varying effects on the Paasch sisters: • Tilly, now applying to colleges, describes seeing herself on screen as "very weird and kind of cringe" but acknowledges it as a unique experience. • Sailor, the youngest, felt like "an absolute celebrity" and has since developed an interest in acting.
What's next: "Homeschooled" is available on all major streaming platforms through Roco Films, allowing viewers to explore the diverse experiences of homeschooling families across the country.
