TriCord Advisors hosted a commercial real estate workshop linking financial planning with Riverside investment opportunities that national investors often miss.
Why it matters: If you're a Riverside business owner or investor, you may be overlooking commercial property in your own backyard โ where office vacancy sits at just 5% (lowest in the nation) and local knowledge creates advantages over outside capital.
What's happening: The Nov. 12 event at Victoria Country Club brought together local business owners and property investors to explore how commercial real estate fits comprehensive wealth planning, including tax benefits and multi-generational estate strategies.
The big picture: National retailers overlook Riverside based on outdated data, but Fleming's Steakhouse breaking ground at The Mark downtown signals changing demographics and rising household incomes are attracting attention.
Be smart: TriCord's fee-based model means advisors aren't selling products โ they're evaluating whether holding or selling commercial property aligns with your retirement and estate goals.
What's next: TriCord hosts "Building Wealthy Habits," a weekly financial discussion series open to clients and community members.

La Sierra University launched a campaign to create an endowment covering full college costs for foster youth, raising $70,000 at its November kickoff event.
Why it matters: Riverside County provides no state funding for foster youth services after age 18, leaving many facing homelessness or incarceration when they age out of the system.
What's new: The Home@LaSierra Endowment would give foster youth access to private university education with comprehensive support, building on Riverside's recent success reaching "functional zero" for youth homelessness.
By the numbers:
$2 million fundraising goal
$70,000 raised at launch event
94 young people housed by the city over two years
What they're saying: "On this campus, they can actually be at home," said Michelle Wohl, deputy director of Riverside County Public Social Services.
What's next: Fundraising gala planned for October 14, 2026, at the Riverside Convention Center. The Pacific Union Conference contributed $10,000 as the first major donor.
Riverside Public Library's free Read Around Riverside program invites adults to log 500 minutes of reading December 5โJanuary 2, earning raffle tickets for prizes while discovering local libraries and connecting with fellow readers.
