Swimming
Ava DeAnda is getting a lot of attention for her swimming achievements. The Poly Sophomore won a state title in the 100-meter and repeated as champion in the 200-meter freestyle event. Look for big things from Ava in the future.
High School Softball
The CIF-SS Softball Championships are this weekend. Two Riverside Schools will play in tournament final games. JW North plays Paraclete on Friday in the Division 4 final, and ML King will face Etiwanda on Saturday for the Division 3 title. Both games are at Deanna Manning Stadium in the City of Irvine. A group of 16- and 17-year-old soccer players from Riverside won four straight games at a major youth tournament last week, beating teams from across the country.
