Riverside Community Hospital unveiled its latest expansion on July 27, 2023. This addition encompasses enhanced Emergency Room facilities, state-of-the-art diagnostic radiology imaging, and a brand-new inpatient telemetry unit.

The upgraded Emergency Room features 20 private rooms, a dedicated nurses’ station, an additional CT room, and two ultrasound rooms. This boost increases the hospital’s Emergency Room capacity to a total of 84 beds.

An inpatient telemetry unit opened with 24 private patient rooms, three nurses’ stations, a breakroom, and a meeting area. Annette Greenwood, the chief nursing officer at Riverside Community Hospital, commented on the development, “We are very excited to open this new unit for our community. It takes a village of dedicated hospital staff, including nursing, pharmacy, supply chain, housekeeping and more, to open a new unit. It’s exciting to move patients into a new part of the facility!”

Adding to the hospital’s radiology capabilities are a new MRI machine and two more x-ray units.

Adam Rudd, the hospital’s chief executive officer, emphasized the significance of the expansion, stating, “The expansion compliments Riverside Community Hospital’s commitment to the care and improvement of human life as well as our goal to keep patients local.”

With this expansion, Riverside Community Hospital now stands as a 517-bed acute care facility.
