Monday Gazette: September 9, 2024
Hello Riverside, and Happy Monday! Yesterday, we shared about our pursuit to create a "master list" of all the key events in Riverside happening in 2025—think festivals, performances, and large celebrations. If you are a part of an organization with an event you want all of Riverside to attend next year, please add it to our calendar (it's free!) and let us know about it. If we can compile a comprehensive list, we will work to publish this fall for your planning purposes.
Welcome to our weekly digest on public meetings and agenda items worthy of your attention in the next week. This guide is part of our mission to provide everyday Riversiders like you with the information to speak up on the issues you care about.
The Land Use Committee meets on Monday, September 9, at 9:00 a.m. (agenda) for a workshop on the municipal code's signage requirements for local businesses, which were last updated in 2015.

SB 366, which addresses California's urgent water infrastructure needs, awaits the Governor's decision; stakeholders are urged to share their positions.
I wrote previously about Senate Bill 366, a bill that would reshape California’s Water Plan and mandate the adoption of a plan to identify nine million acre-feet of new water supply by 2040 and to adopt a goal for further development by 2050. SB 366 is authored by Senator Anna Caballero and co-sponsored by many others, including our local Senator Richard Roth and Assemblymember Bill Essayli. The text of the bill can be found at https://legiscan.com/CA/text/SB366/id/3019677
