It's a chance to recognize individuals and groups who work to make their neighborhoods better.
The ceremony will feature live entertainment and a free dinner for all attendees, creating a welcoming atmosphere for the community to come together and celebrate. Several awards will be presented to honor neighbors for their service, leadership, and kindness. Join us on September 26th from 5:30-8:00 PM at the Evergreen Masonic Lodge for Riverside's 12th Annual Neighborhood Awards Dinner—a night dedicated to celebrating the heart and soul of our city. This event honors those who make Riverside the special place it is. Whether you're attending for the free dinner, live entertainment, or simply to cheer on the neighborhood change-makers, this night is all about community.
Awards will be given in three different categories:
Jack B. Clarke Sr. Award—Good Neighbor: This award is for the individual whose passion and leadership have created a lasting impact. This person is a community activist whose vision has made Riverside a better place to live, work, and play.
Neighborhood Spirit Award: This award goes to a group that unites its neighborhood through projects, events, or initiatives that create real, positive change. They're the heartbeat of the community, reminding us that together, we can do anything.
Neighborhood Hero Award: This award goes to an individual who is quick with a smile, takes time to listen, and can be counted on to help their neighbors. This individual can be anyone you feel has gone above and beyond for the betterment of your neighborhood. This award is special because it is given to a person who does not necessarily work for a charitable service organization.
As event organizer Aram Ayra says, "Formal service awards often go to those with an official role, and those contributions are incredibly important. But kindness? That's something any neighbor can offer, and it's often the small, personal gestures that leave the biggest impact." This award emphasizes that it's not just about official titles or roles but about the heart and humanity neighbors show each other, often in small but meaningful ways.
The event is free and open to the public, with tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition to attending, community members are encouraged to sponsor the event or volunteer their time to help make the evening a success. With its strong focus on community spirit and connection, the Annual Neighborhood Awards Dinner is a testament to Riverside's neighborly care and collaboration tradition. Be sure to reserve your ticket and join in celebrating those who make Riverside a better place for all.
