The Riverside Public Library Foundation has formally announced it will host a gala fundraiser next month in support of the Riverside Public Library.

Windows on the City, an event open to the public, will take place at the new Main Library in Downtown Riverside April 2, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. According to the press release, the event is a celebration of the library’s work in the community to share learning experiences and an opportunity to fundraise for a “resilient Riverside.”

“We hope people who love our libraries and a fun time will join us at the gala, bid on some great auction items, and make some new friends or reunite with old ones, all in support of our community as a whole,” said Susan Toscano, RPLF President.

Attendees can expect live music, a silent auction and raffle, as well as food and wine. Tickets are $100 per person.

“An elegant and fun affair, this year’s gala will feature food by Taste of the Town, live music by The Marwan Trio, a fun wine raffle, and much more,” Toscano said.

Since its inception in 1997, RPLF has raised funds for the library to ensure that excellent public library services remain available to all Riverside residents. In 2020, the foundation helped provide digital resources, including e-books and online language services, in response to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

“The Foundation has a long history of raising funds in support of the Riverside Public Library’s goals to spark curiosity and provide tools for discovery,” Toscano said.

Through its “Preparing for Today, Tomorrow and Beyond” initiative, the Riverside Public Library continues its contribution to the mission of lifelong learning. The initiative helps to create programs and offer resources that guarantee “children, families, teens, and older adults are empowered and equipped to combat unexpected personal, family, community, and worldwide challenges.”
