The Network of Organizations for Resiliency and Advocacy (NORA) will host a Denim Day event Wednesday, April 29, from noon to 3 p.m. at Banner Bank, 5030 Arlington Ave., with a brief program beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Denim Day is a nationally recognized awareness effort rooted in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence. NORA's event will bring together community members, advocates, and organizational partners to highlight survivor-centered support and the role community partnerships play in sustaining it.
"Supporting the incredible work at NORA with our time and donations is how we put those values into action," said Elgin James, vice president and branch manager of Banner Bank. "We invite the community to join us as we bring awareness to supporting survivors and standing against violence."
Attendees are encouraged to wear denim in solidarity. Light refreshments and conversation will follow the program.
NORA provides trauma-informed, survivor-centered services to the Riverside community and is involved in prevention and education efforts year-round.
