Neighbor of the Week: Cosme Cordova
Each week, we will introduce a new neighbor. This is not a who's who list. These are regular Riversiders doing exceptional things.
The Raincross Master Chorale presents "Songs of Light", featuring works by Lauridsen, Tallis, and Whitacre. Proceeds support music student scholarships.
The Raincross Master Chorale will present Songs of Light on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 4 p.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church, located at 4495 Magnolia Ave., Riverside. The concert features Morten Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna with orchestra, with tickets priced at $20 and discounts available for seniors and veterans.
The concert theme, Songs of Light, explores light and illumination through compositions such as Thomas Tallis's O nata lux de lumine, Eric Whitacre's Lux Aurumque, and Elaine Hagenberg's five-movement Illuminare, which will also be performed with orchestra.
Directed by Jonathan Osbrink and accompanied by Abe Fabella, the 45-voice Raincross Master Chorale invites audiences to experience this inspiring program. Proceeds from the concert support scholarships for young music students.
"Come out and get inspired by these masterful choral settings," said Osbrink. "Live music has always lifted the human spirit, and the sound will be amazing inside the sanctuary."
Tickets can be purchased at the door or through any chorale member. For more information, visit raincrossmasterchorale.org or find the chorale on Facebook and YouTube.
