Patricia Lock Dawson holds dominating lead against opponent Jessica Qattawi in Riverside mayor race

With nearly 80% of the vote, Lock Dawson secures a commanding victory for a second term as Riverside's mayor.

Incumbent Patricia Lock Dawson leads Jessica Qattawi on Wednesday evening, March 6, in her bid for a second term as Riverside's mayor.

  • Patricia Lock Dawson: 17,681 votes
  • Jessica Qattawi: 4,817 votes

Lock Dawson secured 79% of the ballots counted by Wednesday night, beating Qattawi by over 12,000 votes.

Lock Dawson was pleased with the results.

"I'm grateful for Riverside voters who believe that our best days are ahead of us," she said late Tuesday. "The work we've done so far has put us on the right track, with over $300 million in state and federal funding secured, reduced homelessness, properly honoring our veterans, and beautifying Riverside. I'm excited to continue to work on behalf of the city I love."

Qattawi did not respond to a request for comment but acknowledged "I did not win" in a post on her personal Instagram page Wednesday morning.
