Aside from the regular vendors on the Main Street mall and the open galleries spread throughout downtown we have some special highlights. Urge Pallete on Ninth near Main is celebrating ten years with an incredible show featuring dozens of pieces by friends of the shop at the attached Pain Sugar Gallery. Other events worth checking out are the opening receptions at the RCCA, on Lemon near University, in recognition of Women’s History Month and a show exploring the topic of mass incarceration at The Cheech. The Riverside Main Library and the Inlandia Institute will be hosting a free and public journalism panel featuring local journalists discussing the civic and social responsibilities of their profession.
If Artswalk hasn’t become part of your Riverside routine this may be the month to make that change. Riverside Artswalk is a premier monthly event and a real tribute to the city’s investment in the arts and the hard work and talent of our local artists.
