As Evening Falls on Feb. 25, Go to Church Just Like Charles Dickens
Evensong 2023 at the First Congregational Church (Dr. Robert Sirotnik).

At the end of the day Sunday, the Raincross Master Chorale will offer an Evensong service inside the First Congregational Church, located at 3504 Mission Inn Ave. in Riverside. The concert begins at 4 p.m. and will stay in the traditional spot while the other Dickens Festival events have moved to Jurupa Valley.

Cost is $10 for the concert and tickets are available at the door.

Charles Dickens was born February 7, 1812. He was raised in the Church of England and was an admirer of the kind of Christian who is gentle and does charitable works, but not so fond of the kinds of people who preached about hellfire and damnation. For more details about the schedule of the fair, check out www.dickensfest.com.

The Raincross Master Chorale is made up of about 40 singers, directed by Jonathan Osbrink and accompanied by Abe Fabella. Our presiding priest for the concert is Father Ryan Macias from All Saints Episcopal Church of Riverside.

This concert marks 25 years since the founding of Raincross Chorale, which was originally formed for the Dickens Festival. It merged with the Riverside Master Chorale and now this is Riverside’s community choir.
