At 70 years old, Pete Staylor continues his mission to raise funds and awareness for arthritis research, proving that age is no barrier to making a difference.
Anisa Escobedo has announced her campaign for City Council’s Ward 3 seat in the 2024 election. Her entrance to the race positions her against Warren Avery and Steven Robillard, who are also running to represent Ward 3.
Escobedo is an appointee to the California State Independent Living Council, a Pick Group of Young Professionals member, and owns a design business in Corona.
“Being a person with disabilities, transgender female, experiencing homelessness, and building a successful company from the ground up,” said Escobedo, “It is my hope that I will be able to work with the city to shape policy, address critical issues, and offer personal insight into some of our greatest challenges.”
RUSD’s first Asian American board member, known for his student-centric approach and leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, will step down in December 2024.
Philip Falcone, Steven Robillard, and Sean Mill were elected in March. Their first vote was to undo action taken by the outgoing council during their final session earlier in the day.
