Campus also places 5th for making an impact, 11th for financial aid in Princeton Review's 2025 rankings.
UC Riverside secured the 33rd spot among public universities in the Princeton Review's 2025 "Best Value Colleges" rankings, earning recognition across multiple categories for the sixth consecutive year.
The university received a 90 out of 99 return on investment score and placed 11th nationally among public schools for financial aid. UCR also ranked fifth among public universities for "making an impact" and was included in the Top 50 Green Colleges list.
"The schools on our 'Best Value Colleges' lists this year are truly exceptional," said Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review. "They offer outstanding academics and excellent career services. They also demonstrate extraordinary commitments to affordability via generous financial aid and/or comparatively low sticker prices."
The Princeton Review evaluated more than 650 colleges and universities before selecting 209 institutions for its best value list — 68 public and 141 private schools. Rankings were based on more than 40 data points covering academics, affordability and career outcomes for graduates.
UCR's consistent placement in the rankings bolsters Riverside's reputation as home to a nationally recognized public university that prioritizes accessible education. The campus serves a predominantly first-generation and low-income student population, with more than half of undergraduates receiving Pell Grants.
The rankings were released Tuesday, June 24. The Princeton Review, a tutoring and college admission services company, is not affiliated with Princeton University.
