Trash Pickup Changes and Holiday Closures for July 4th

City offices will be closed this Friday for Independence Day, and trash pickup will shift one day later.

Trash Pickup Changes and Holiday Closures for July 4th

City and county offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. There will be no trash or recycling collection on Friday.

  • If your regular collection day is Friday, your pickup will happen on Saturday, July 5 instead.
  • All other collection days earlier in the week will remain unchanged.

This applies to both City of Riverside Public Works customers and residents in unincorporated areas serviced by Athens Services.

Don’t forget — on the third Saturday of every month (this month, July 19), City of Riverside residents can show their utility bill and dispose of bulky trash and yard waste for free at the Agua Mansa Transfer Station, located at 1830 Agua Mansa Rd, Riverside.

Enjoy the holiday—whether you’re watching fireworks, hosting a barbecue, or spending time with family. And don’t forget to set your bins out one day later than usual!

Stay safe and happy Fourth of July, Riverside!
