Welcome to our weekly digest of public meetings and agenda items worth your attention for this coming week. This guide is part of our mission to provide everyday Riversiders like you with the information to speak up on the issues you care about.
Transportation Board
The Transportation Board meets on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 5:30 p.m. (agenda) to consider a 5-minute parking zone on Bogart Avenue that would give mail carriers a place to stop at a new 23-unit supportive housing complex (item 5), and considering a resident appeal for six speed humps on Muirfield Road, which City staff recommend denying because the street falls short of the city’s speed and traffic volume requirements (item 6).
Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Policy Ad Hoc Committee
The Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Policy Ad Hoc Committee meets for the first time on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 3 p.m. (agenda) to discuss its monthly public hearings through November 2027 on artificial intelligence’s effects on City services, jobs, utility capacity, land use and resident privacy, leading to a proposed citywide AI strategy for City Council consideration (item 2).
Board of Ethics
The Board of Ethics meets on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m. (agenda) to hold a preliminary review of an ethics complaint against Councilmember Philip Falcone (item 3), and discussing proposals from a board member to establish the Board of Ethics in the City Charter — a change that would require voter approval — and to set rules for how the board works with the City’s Inspector General on ethics investigations (item 6).
