If you ask most residents about our Riverside Airport, they might describe it as a quiet place for small planes or student pilots. But those of us working closely with it know something different: this airport is one of Riverside’s most underutilized assets—and it’s time we change that.
I’ve long believed that elevating the airport’s role in our city is key to unlocking a new wave of economic, educational, and community opportunities. It’s more than just a transportation hub; it’s a platform for workforce development, innovation and civic engagement.

The City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department has opened seven public pools for the 2025 summer season, running June 9 through August 14.
Riverside’s public pools offer recreational swimming with varying schedules throughout the week. Most pools operate Monday and Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m., with evening hours Monday through Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday swimming is available at Hunt Park, Reid Park and Villegas Park from 1 to 4 p.m.
There are pools in most neighborhoods across the city, and they offer a fun way to stay active and beat the heat. Riverside Parks also offers a variety of lessons and other programs at the pools alongside their open swim sessions. Admission is affordable and offers excellent value for Riverside residents.
