Raincross Day celebration, free nutrition program for kids...

Tuesday Gazette: February 24, 2026
Hello Riverside, and Happy Tuesday! Today is both National Tortilla Chip Day and World Bartender Day, which sounds like the perfect excuse to make a reservation. Whether you're planning a date night, a dinner out with friends, or just chips and salsa and something cold to drink, Riverside has no shortage of great spots to pull up a chair. We want to know: where are your favorite places to go for appetizers, a casual dinner, or a special night out? Email us at newsroom@raincrossgazette.com and tell us about your go-to spots.
And while you're thinking about it, is there a server, bartender, or mixologist in Riverside who always gets your regular order right, crafts the perfect cocktail or mocktail, and makes you feel like a neighbor every time you walk in? Take a minute to nominate them as a Neighbor of the Week.
See you tomorrow!

The Mission Inn Foundation and Museum kicks off a new annual celebration with a free public reception Wednesday evening.

Riverside marks its first official Raincross Day on Wednesday with a free reception at the Mission Inn Foundation and Museum — and a new exhibit exploring 150 years of local history.
Why it matters: This is Riverside's newest civic holiday, rooted in the city's own symbol. Wednesday's event is free, open to the public, and kicks off what organizers hope becomes an annual tradition.
Driving the news: Ward 1 Councilmember Phillip Falcone will formally proclaim Raincross Day during Tuesday's Council meeting, with the holiday officially launching Feb. 25 — the date Frank Miller's Raincross patent was issued.
What's happening: The Mission Inn Foundation and Museum, 3598 Main St., hosts the opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring the debut of Inside the Glenwood, Outside the Inn, an exhibit marking the Glenwood's 150th anniversary and the Foundation's 50th year.
What's next: The celebration continues Saturday, Feb. 28, when Raincross Tattoo, 4027 Market St., hosts a car show from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with tattoo flash designs starting at $60. Contact Jacob Gamble at 951-203-2293 for details.
