Mission Inn Foundation Marks Raincross Day With New Exhibit, Community Reception
The Mission Inn Foundation and Museum kicks off a new annual celebration with a free public reception Wednesday evening.

Riverside marks its first official Raincross Day on Wednesday with a free reception at the Mission Inn Foundation and Museum — and a new exhibit exploring 150 years of local history.
Why it matters: This is Riverside's newest civic holiday, rooted in the city's own symbol. Wednesday's event is free, open to the public, and kicks off what organizers hope becomes an annual tradition.
Driving the news: Ward 1 Councilmember Phillip Falcone will formally proclaim Raincross Day during Tuesday's Council meeting, with the holiday officially launching Feb. 25 — the date Frank Miller's Raincross patent was issued.
What's happening: The Mission Inn Foundation and Museum, 3598 Main St., hosts the opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring the debut of Inside the Glenwood, Outside the Inn, an exhibit marking the Glenwood's 150th anniversary and the Foundation's 50th year.
Associate Curator Arman James Agahi will discuss how the Inn's spaces have been understood — and contested — over time.
New and renewing members who sign up Wednesday receive a complimentary souvenir bell while supplies last.

Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino's TGIF: The Goodness in Food runs four consecutive Saturdays, designed for grades 2-5.

Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino brings back its free four-week TGIF food education program for elementary students and their parents this March.
Why it matters: If you have a child in grades 2–5, this free program teaches hands-on nutrition skills — from cooking demos to farm visits — with no cost to families.
What's happening: Sessions run Fridays March 7, 14, and 21 at the FARSB Learning Center, 4035 Trail Creek Rd., 9–10 a.m., with a final session March 28 at Overflow Farms, 4850 Jurupa Ave., 3–4 p.m.
New this year: the Leah's Pantry Food Smarts for Kids Workbook and seasonal recipes in the cooking demo.
