The City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department has opened seven public pools for the 2025 summer season, running June 9 through August 14.
Riverside’s public pools offer recreational swimming with varying schedules throughout the week. Most pools operate Monday and Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m., with evening hours Monday through Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday swimming is available at Hunt Park, Reid Park, and Villegas Park from 1 to 4 p.m.
There are pools in most neighborhoods across the city, and they offer a fun way to stay active and beat the heat. Riverside Parks also offers a variety of lessons and other programs at the pools alongside their open swim sessions. Admission is affordable and offers excellent value for Riverside residents.
Most pools follow this pattern:
• Monday & Wednesday: 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m.
• Tuesday & Thursday: 7 to 8:30 p.m. only
• Saturday: 1 to 4 p.m. (Hunt, Reid, and Villegas only)
• Friday & Sunday: All pools closed

All three open Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Shamel Park Pool - 3650 Arlington Ave.
Both follow the general pattern: Mon/Wed 1 to 3 p.m. & 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tue/Thu 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Note: Shamel Pool evening hours are Tuesday & Thursday only (not Monday & Thursday like others)

Opening schedule to be announced
Daily admission fees are $1.25 for residents ages 0–17 and $1.50 for nonresidents in the same age group. Adults ages 18–59 pay $2.50 for residents and $3.25 for nonresidents. Senior admission for ages 60 and above is $1.75 for residents and $3.25 for nonresidents.
Season passes are available through the OSP Kaiser Permanente Grant program at $20 for youth, $40 for adults, and $75 for family passes covering one adult and three children.
Adult lap swimming at Sippy Woodhead Pool costs $6 for ages 18 and above, while seniors 50 and older swim free during designated lap swim hours. The city also offers swim lesson programs for all ages.
The Riverside Police Department and Riverside Police Foundation, in partnership with the Parks department, will host free swimming days every Wednesday this summer from 1 to 3 p.m. at rotating locations. The program includes free swim tickets for families and complimentary Kona Ice for children.
The free swim schedule begins June 11 at Sippy Woodhead, continues June 18 at Villegas Park, June 25 at Reid Park, July 2 at Hunt Park, July 9 at Islander Park, July 16 at Arlington Park, July 23 at Shamel Park, July 30 at Reid Park, and August 6 at Sippy Woodhead.
Children age 7 and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times, both on the pool deck and in the water. All pools are ADA accessible, and schedules are subject to change.
