Last Thursday, the Planning Commission approved the dual-brand AC Marriott – Residence Inn hotel with a subterranean parking structure and adaptive reuse of historic fire station #1. The project will move forward into review from the Cultural Heritage Board tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
City Council
During the 6:15 p.m. discussion, the Office of the City Attorney will present an Overview of Laura’s Law to the city council. Laura’s Law is a state law, authorized by counties, that allows court-ordered assisted outpatient treatment.
Also during the 6:15 p.m. discussion, the Riverside Police Department will present a Community & Policing In Riverside update. The presentation will include budget, staffing, 2020 statistics, a 2021-2024 strategic plan and more.
Priority-Based Budget Implementation
The city is implementing priority-based budgeting this year and our local elected officials are seeking community feedback. Constituents can offer their input by emailing their council members or by calling during public comment in upcoming city council and Budget Engagement Commission meetings. Yesterday’s city council special meeting featured a Budget Workshop, which covered the city’s budget development process, general fund baseline budget and priority-based budgeting.
