City Council Meeting
Item 7: Presentation of Finalized Design Plans for Vine Street Mobility Hub
On Tuesday, the council will receive a presentation of the final design decisions for the Vine Street Mobility Hub, which is to be located off Vine and Tenth Streets, across from the Downtown Riverside Metrolink Station. The plans include 16 bus bays and a unique art installation in one of the shaded waiting areas that will be a “representation of the Santa Ana River Corridor.” The Riverside Transit Authority heads the project and, if approved, said construction is expected to begin in January 2022 with a completion date by January 2023.
Item 9: Riverside Alive Project and Potential Selling of Property
The council will receive a presentation update on the Riverside Alive Project, which has been an ongoing project since September 2018. During Tuesday’s meeting, the council will vote on whether to sell all of Lot 33 to a private development group. The lot makes a T-shape and is sandwiched between the Riverside Convention Center and adjacent Marriott Riverside hotel. The council will also consider a lease agreement for the former Utilities Plaza site to be built into a parking garage.
Item 20: City Looking to Seek over $8 million from California Grant Program
The council will vote to apply for $8,433,288 of grant money aimed to help the city’s efforts to reduce local homelessness. If awarded, the funds will be awarded from Round 3 of the Homeless, Housing, Assistance and Prevention Grant Program of the California Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Agency.
