Riverside Unified School District’s board may see new leadership in November with Chani Beeman’s announcement of her candidacy for the board as the Area 3 Trustee. RUSD Area 3 includes the Downtown, Highgrove, and Eastside neighborhoods and portions of the Victoria Greenbelt area and has been represented by Dr. Angelo Farooq since 2015.
Beeman, a native Riversider and product of RUSD schools, including University Heights Junior High and John W. North High, says she will be a strong advocate for children, teachers, and parents.
“Our schools are a direct reflection of our community’s health and vigor,” Beeman says, “My career in education and many years of community service will make me a strong reasoned voice representing RUSD Area 3.”
Beeman says she’s committed to learning from the community and working with colleagues to ensure all students have access to the resources they need to succeed.
