Annual fundraiser at Fairmount Park supports local animal shelter with family-friendly activities.
Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center will host its 33rd Annual Walk with the Animals fundraiser on Saturday, April 26, at Fairmount Park in Riverside from 9 a.m. to noon.
The event, presented by DCH Subaru of Riverside, aims to raise critical funds for the care of homeless animals and support the center's community programs.
Registration costs $40 for adults and $30 for students, which includes a commemorative T-shirt and pancake breakfast. Participants can register at petsadoption.org or on-site starting at 9 a.m. on the day of the event. The walk begins at 10 a.m. following a Blessing of the Animals Ceremony. More than 1,500 pet lovers from throughout the Inland Empire typically attend.
Additional activities include a vendor village, a children's area, a dog activity zone, pet contests, and raffle prizes featuring restaurant gift cards, event tickets, and local experiences.
Fundraisers who collect donations of at least $250 will receive special incentives, according to event organizers. Major sponsors include DCH Subaru of Riverside, All Pro Cooling, Heating, Plumbing and Electrical, KATY-FM and VCA Animal Hospital.
Founded in 1897, the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center provides animal sheltering, pet adoptions, humane education, low-cost spay and neuter services, vaccinations, and microchipping.
