The Riverside Fire Department will be conducting a prescribed burn in the Sycamore Canyon area on June 11 and 12, and residents are being urged to avoid loitering in the area during the operation.

The burn, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will be conducted on eight acres of land to the rear of 6681 River Run Dr.

The city said that preconstructed fire breaks have been placed in the area to ensure safe operations.

Some smoke may drift and linger in the area during the burn, and residents are urged to avoid loitering in the vicinity of the fire department activities during the operation.
