November ArtsWalk In the Dark After Daylight Savings Time Change

Several gallery openings and a preview of the Mission Inn lights make this ArtsWalk a must-see.

November ArtsWalk In the Dark After Daylight Savings Time Change
Sixty Miles East is a visual history of the underground music scene in the 1990’s, now running at the Riverside Art Museum. (Ken Crawford)

Daylight saving time ended November 2, so November's ArtsWalk will be the first fully dark one of the season. The galleries and street vendors take on a different feel when the sun's already down at 6 p.m. Main Street vendors are starting to stock holiday items, making this a good month to get ahead on gift shopping from local artists and artisans.

Full disclosure: I'm co-curating the "60 Miles East" exhibition at RAM, documenting Riverside's punk, hardcore, and ska scene from the late 1980s to early 2000s. After more than a year of collecting firsthand accounts, flyers, photos, and stories from a scene I was part of, I'm excited to finally share this piece of local history with everyone.
