Thursday, Aug. 7 | 6 to 9 p.m. | Downtown Riverside
Downtown's biggest monthly arts celebration returns with 22 galleries and museums open late, artisan vendors lining Main Street, and special activities at both the Riverside Art Museum and The Cheech. This free event transforms downtown into an open-air gallery perfect for exploring Riverside's thriving arts scene.
Special highlight this month: The Riverside Concert Band will perform at the Benjamin Franklin Stage with their jazz band combo, filling the air with music throughout the evening.

August means back to school and back to high school sports. Boys football, girls flag football, girls volleyball and cross country all start this month. High school sports are great community events—affordable, family-friendly and exciting ways to spend an evening, especially when the weather is warm.
We will have a local football preview coming soon, but if you must put something on the calendar: The Arlington Lions visit the Ramona Rams on Aug. 30. You can check MaxPreps.com for the full schedule.
Riverside has two Division I NCAA athletic programs. These athletes are good, and these games are a great way to spend an affordable evening out of the house. The energy at these matches is electric. If you go to one, you will want to go back.

Hundreds of decorated bicycles light up the streets of Riverside in this unique community celebration. Both electric and traditional bikes are welcome as riders parade their illuminated creations around the city. This monthly gathering brings together cyclists of all ages for a colorful, family-friendly ride through downtown.
