Watch – Ward 6 Candidate Forum: Luis Hernandez, Oz Puerta

On Thursday, April 30, the Raincross Gazette hosted the third and final candidate forum for the 2026 City Council races. Ward 6 voters joined us at the Altura Credit Union Magnolia Branch to hear from the candidates running for the open seat being vacated by three-term Councilmember Jim Perry.

Two of the three candidates participated: Oz Puerta and Luis Hernandez. Norma Berrellez was absent.

The forum, moderated by longtime Press-Enterprise columnist Dan Bernstein, covered homelessness, the Riverside Transmission Reliability Project, the future of the Galleria at Tyler, the Magnolia Corridor, the city manager, and Ward 6-specific concerns including Arlanza, La Sierra, and portions of Arlington.

The forum was hosted by Altura Credit Union.
