Dr. Angelo Farooq has announced his campaign for State Senate in the 2024 election. Richard Roth is terming out of the State’s 31st Senate district seat, encompassing Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Moreno Valley, Perris, San Jacinto, and parts of Corona, Fontana, Menifee, and Riverside.
Farooq currently serves on the Board of Education for Riverside Unified School District and was appointed by the Governor as the Chair of the California Workforce Development Board.
“I am running for California State Senate because the families of District 31 deserve a voice that will fight for the high quality of life that we each deserve,” says Farooq. “The urgent challenges of affordability, housing, homelessness, public education, climate change, economic and workforce development all require proven leadership.”
California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis endorsed Farooq, noting “his lifelong dedication to public service and opportunity to represent his hometown make him the ideal leader that District 31 deserves.”
