Commission on Aging
The Commission on Aging meets on Monday, October 16, at 4:00 p.m. (agenda) for a presentation from the County on Curtailing Abuse Related to the Elderly and to build their priorities for the coming year.
Park and Recreation Commission
The Park and Recreation Commission meets on Monday, October 16, at 6:30 p.m. (agenda) for a presentation on urban ecology, a plan to double the pickleball courts in town by the end of 2025, and the proposed renaming of El Dorado Park to Tim Strack Park.
City Council
City Council will meet in closed and open sessions on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. (agenda).
During the afternoon session:
- Arc Strategies, the City’s contract State lobbying firm, will present an update on the California Legislative 2023 Session to the Council.
- Council will review the latest proposed retail cannabis business permit procedure guidelines and consider the addition of up to five staff to support the City’s cannabis program.
During the evening session:
- Council will consider approving a $2.3 million Design Build Services Agreement with Urban Habitat Landscape Contractors for the Arlington Park Pickleball Complex Project.
- Council will review and adopt the Citywide Community Engagement Policy and Toolkit.
Safety, Wellness, and Youth Committee
The Safety, Wellness, and Youth Committee meets on Wednesday, October 18, at 1:00 p.m. (agenda) to consider extending the American Medical Response’s Advanced Life Support ambulance services contract.
Cultural Heritage Board
The Cultural Heritage Board meets on Wednesday, October 18, at 3:30 p.m. (agenda) and will select members for a subcommittee to assist the City's development of Accessory Dwelling Unit design guidelines.
Economic Development, Placemaking, and Branding/ Marketing Committee
The Economic Development, Placemaking, and Branding/Marketing Committee meets on Thursday, October 12, at 3:00 p.m. (agenda) to review the Naming Rights Sponsorship Asset Inventory and Valuation Report, which would allow the City to sell naming rights to public assets like the Convention Center and Main Library. The committee will also review responses from the Local Preference and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise procurement policy expansion survey of 678 business owners.
Commission on Disabilities
The Commission on Disabilities meets on Thursday, October 12, at 5:30 p.m. (agenda) for a presentation on National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
