Park and Recreation Commission
The Park and Recreation Commission meets on Monday, December 18, at 6:30 p.m. (agenda) for update presentations on the Bourns Family Youth Innovation Center and tree management.
City Council
City Council will meet in closed and open sessions on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. (agenda). The agenda includes:
- A committee recommendation to expand RPU's SHARE program, which provides low-income residents with utility bill assistance for water and electric services, to the City's trash service.
- An annual review of the City's progress with the Homeless Action Plan.
- Final approval for renaming El Dorado Park to Tim Strack Park in honor of fallen Riverside Fire Department Captain Tim Strack.
- A year-end update on the City's annual General Fund Transfer from the utilities fund to the general fund, amounting to $50.5 million for 2023.
Safety, Wellness, and Youth Committee
The Safety, Wellness, and Youth Committee meets on Wednesday, December 20, at 1:00 p.m. (agenda), where the sale or donation of two decommissioned RPD helicopters will be considered for a recommendation to the City Council.
Planning Commission
The Planning Commission meets on Thursday, December 21, at 9:00 a.m. (agenda) for public hearings on a new Starbucks on La Sierra Avenue just north of Magnolia Avenue and the City's policies for low-income housing development.
