Spirit Halloween has temporarily leased the former Alin Party Supply building on Magnolia Avenue while preparations continue for a permanent high-end liquor store planned by local business owner Jazz Patel. Construction on the new liquor store concept will begin after Spirit Halloween's lease expires.

The entrepreneur has built El Cerrito Liquor into a destination store for the western Inland Empire, specializing in premium spirits and hard-to-find craft beers. The South Corona location has attracted customers from across the region seeking high-end products not typically found in neighborhood markets.

Patel鈥檚 vision for the Magnolia Avenue location extends beyond traditional retail, with plans reportedly including tasting room experiences and entertainment lounge areas alongside the retail operation. The new concept represents an expansion of his successful formula of offering unique, premium products in a locally owned setting.

"Jazz's will offer a curated selection of finer spirits and craft beverages, unlocking a world of flavor for customers seeking premium products in a friendly, local atmosphere," says Patel. "The store aims to be your neighborhood destination where you're in good hands exploring high-quality spirits tailored to your palate.

Some community members have expressed concerns about adding another liquor store to the neighborhood, with Facebook pages generating numerous comments questioning the need for another alcohol retailer. Residents have also voiced worry about potential impacts on established businesses like La Bodega.

However, Patel鈥檚 track record suggests the new location will target affluent customers seeking specialty products rather than competing for everyday convenience store business.

The Midtown/Magnolia Center area has seen increased interest in unique, locally owned retail establishments. Patel was not available for comment regarding the new store鈥檚 name, specific timelines or details about the planned buildout.

The temporary Spirit Halloween arrangement allows the space to remain active while providing Patel time to finalize construction plans for what he envisions as a premium retail experience.
