Riverside Unified School District will host its seventh annual "You Are Enough" Community Event on Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at Ramona High School's Ram Stadium, 7675 Magnolia Ave.

The free, family-friendly event features interactive wellness activities, arts and crafts, face painting, dance and yoga sessions, and access to more than 30 community organizations offering resources on mental health, nutrition, and physical fitness. Free food and giveaways will also be available.

The event is hosted by RUSD's Wellness and Engagement Department in partnership with the district's Family Resource Center. It kicks off the district's broader observance of Mental Health Awareness Month in May.

"You Are Enough" does not end on April 11. RUSD will follow up with a free six-session workshop series for caregivers running April 15 through May 13, offered in both in-person and virtual formats. Topics include building positive mindsets, co-regulation strategies for children's emotional meltdowns, recognizing warning signs of suicide, managing parenting stress, and addressing challenging behaviors in young children.

The six workshops are free and open to the public:

"Fail to Flourish: Embracing Positivity and the Growth Mindset" â€” Wednesday, April 15, 9 a.m. In person at the RUSD Family Resource Center, 6735 Magnolia Ave., Portable B6. This session gives parents tools to help children overcome negative thinking patterns and build a growth-oriented mindset.

"Your Calm, Their Calm: Helping Your Child Build a Strong Emotional Foundation" â€” Wednesday, April 22, 9 a.m. Virtual. Focuses on co-regulation — the technique of using a caregiver's own calm to help settle a child's nervous system during emotional meltdowns.

"Know the Signs" â€” Wednesday, April 29, 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Virtual. This 90-minute session covers suicide awareness, including how to recognize warning signs, how to have a direct conversation with someone in crisis, and where to find professional help.

"De-Stress for Success: Empowering Parents to Move from Surviving to Thriving" â€” Wednesday, May 6, 9 a.m. Virtual. Goes beyond common stress-relief advice to explore the science of parental stress and offer practical tools for greater day-to-day stability.

"Parent Power" â€” Tuesday, May 12, 6:30 p.m. Virtual. A 90-minute session on building stronger parent-child relationships and addressing unwanted behaviors, including school absenteeism.

"Managing Challenging Behaviors with Young Children" â€” Wednesday, May 13, 6:30 p.m. Virtual. Covers prevention strategies, in-the-moment responses to difficult behaviors, and self-care for caregivers of young children.

Virtual attendees should register in advance at mtraill@riversideunified.org to receive a Zoom link.
