Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson: An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies Part II

Dr. Tyson's multimedia presentation blends humor, science education, and movie clips in an entertaining evening that appeals to science enthusiasts and film buffs alike.

First Thursday ArtsWalk

Thursday, June 5 | 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. | Riverside Art Museum + The Cheech

Both the Riverside Art Museum and The Cheech Marin Center offer free admission for June's ArtsWalk. The Cheech features "Black and Brown in the IE," a group art show highlighting historical and contemporary issues facing Brown and Black communities in the Inland Empire. This community-focused exhibition emerged from free workshops with local historians and academics, making it a truly collaborative celebration of our region's diversity.

Pride Month Special: Queering the IE

This special Pride Month program explores Riverside's LGBTQ+ history and the broader Inland Empire's queer past and present. The presentation offers insights into often-overlooked stories of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities who have shaped our region.

The Cheech Unveils New Collection

Opening Saturday, June 7 | The Cheech

The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture debuts "Shifting Perspectives: Cheech Collects IV," the latest installation from comedian and art collector Cheech Marin's renowned collection. As Cheech's collection grows, the museum rotates new items into display while moving existing pieces back into storage, as the collection is too large to display all at once. This dynamic approach ensures visitors always have something new to discover. The new exhibition continues The Cheech's mission of showcasing the finest in Chicano art and will run through May 2026. The museum also continues to feature "Amalia Mesa-Bains: Archaeology of Memory" through August and "Hecho en Park Avenue" through September.

Concerts in the Park Series

Wednesdays in June | 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. | Fairmount Park

Riverside's beloved summer tradition returns with three stellar acts this month. Stone Soul kicks things off June 11 with their acclaimed Motown tribute, followed by Suave the Band's mix of R&B, Latin, and old school soul on June 18. Generation 80's Band closes out the month on June 25 with their high-energy tribute to the decade of big hair and bigger hits.

RCC Student Film Festival 2025

Thursday, June 12 | 7:00 p.m. | Culver Center of the Arts

Riverside City College's film students showcase their year's best work in this annual festival. The screening offers a glimpse at the next generation of filmmakers and often features surprisingly professional productions spanning drama, comedy, documentary, and experimental genres.

Olivewood Cemetery Tour Debuts

Saturday, June 14 | Mission Inn Foundation

The Mission Inn Foundation launches its newest walking tour experience at Olivewood Cemetery, Riverside's often-overlooked memorial park established in 1888. This hour-long tour visits more than 40 graves, sharing stories of the pioneers and people who built Riverside, from citrus barons and politicians to architects like Franz Hosp who designed Victoria Avenue. The tour includes notable sites like the 1890 Dyer vault and the Jekel mausoleum designed in 1930. A spooky version is reportedly in development for those seeking a different kind of historical encounter.

Father's Day Classic Car Meet-Up

Celebrate Dad with chrome, classics, and community at this special Father's Day gathering. The Farm House Collective's parking area transforms into a showcase of vintage automobiles, hot rods, and automotive memories.

"The Cheech" Golf Tournament

Monday, June 16 | Victoria Club

Unidos, Latino Network, and Spanish Town Heritage Foundation host this annual golf tournament benefiting The Cheech Marin Center. The event brings together the community for a day on the links at the historic Victoria Club (2521 Arroyo Drive) while supporting Riverside's premier center for Chicano art and culture.

"Weird Al" Yankovic: Bigger & Weirder 2025 Tour

Tuesday, June 17 | 8:00 p.m. | Fox Performing Arts Center

Comedy music legend "Weird Al" Yankovic brings his acclaimed tour to the Fox, promising an evening of parody hits, polka medleys, and multimedia comedy. The five-time Grammy winner's Riverside stop is part of his extensive North American tour celebrating four decades of musical satire.

Museum of Riverside Groundbreaking

After years of planning and anticipation, Riverside will break ground on the new Museum of Riverside. This milestone civic event marks the beginning of a transformative project that will reshape how our community engages with its rich history and culture. Farm House Collective's Summer Cinema & Concerts

The Farm House Collective continues to establish itself as Riverside's premier entertainment destination with an impressive June lineup. Their outdoor summer cinema series features date night classics like "Roman Holiday" (June 12) and family favorite "Shrek" (June 17).

Music highlights include the legendary Souls of Mischief with Gaslamp Killer (June 19), bringing Oakland hip-hop royalty to Riverside. The venue also hosts its popular 2000s Market most Sundays and introduces special themed markets including a Disney Market on June 21.
