Hello Riverside, and good morning on this September 11. Today we pause and remember, honoring the lives lost and the courage shown on that day 23 years ago. This morning, the City of Riverside is holding a 9/11 Day of Remembrance Ceremony. You can also learn more about Riverside’s own firefighters who traveled to New York to serve in the recovery and cleanup through this powerful documentary.

Games of the Week: September 12-17, 2025

CBU packs Thursday night with volleyball, water polo and the Crosstown Showdown, while high school and UCR games round out Riverside’s busy sports week.

Thursday, CBU is the place to be. Three great events and it looks like the evenings should be cooling down. The Lancers women's soccer team hosts this year’s Crosstown Showdown. CBU looks to make it three in a row against the Highlanders Thursday night.

Thursday, Sept. 11 – CBU Tripleheader:

  • CBU Women's Volleyball vs. Cal State Fullerton – 5 p.m. at Van Dyne Gym
  • CBU Men's Water Polo vs. Biola – 5 p.m. at Lancer Aquatics Center
  • CBU Women's Soccer vs. UC Riverside – 7:30 p.m. at CBU Soccer Stadium (Crosstown Showdown)

The Mission Inn Museum and Foundation is presenting a unique Halloween program featuring dinner at a historic Riverside home and cemetery tours highlighting tragic local stories.

Driving the news: The "Tragic Endings" experience combines a house tour, dinner, and sunset cemetery visits over three nights in September and October.

  • Limited to 24 guests per evening, the event focuses on individuals who met tragic ends, including fallen police officers.

Why it matters: The program connects visitors with local history through stories of tragic figures, while supporting the Fallen Officers Foundation.

  • All tips received during the tours will benefit families of deceased law enforcement personnel.

The details: Tours begin at the Bandini/Battles house and conclude at Olivewood Cemetery, featuring entertainment from performers like the "Witches of Housewagon" dance troupe.
