SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West (SEIU-UHW) has planned a protest for tomorrow, Friday, March 31, at 11:30 a.m. at Riverside Community Hospital. According to a recent survey by SEIU-UHW of healthcare workers at HCA Riverside, more than 89% of caregivers reported consistently being somewhat or severely understaffed, 79% reported having insufficient time for proper patient care, and 72% reported delays or denials of patient care due to short staffing.

“It’s frustrating that we can’t take care of patients how we’d like to,” said Bella Panchal, a speech therapist at Riverside Community Hospital. “I would take my time instead of rushing, rushing, rushing. But we are overworked and understaffed. I want to be able to say I'm proud to work here and bring my family to this hospital. At this point, I’m not sure I can say that.”
