City falls short on housing mandate, Planning Commission delays night club revocation, Pipe & Drum return for St. Paddy's Pub Crawl...
The Riverside City Firefighters Association Pipe & Drum Band marks St. Patrick's Day with a three-stop Downtown tour, raising funds for firefighter memorials and band operations.
The Riverside City Firefighters Association Pipe & Drum Band will host its 6th Annual St. Paddy's Day Pub Crawl on Tuesday, March 17, winding through three Downtown venues with live music, food and firefighter merchandise.
The event is free to attend, with merchandise sales and donations benefiting the Riverside City Firefighter Foundation, which the pipe band is a part of. Proceeds support uniforms, instruments and travel expenses for the band to attend firefighter memorial ceremonies across the country. "We think this connection is one of our core missions next to honoring our fallen," the band said.
The crawl begins at 6 p.m. at ProAbition, continues to Lake Alice at 7:15 p.m. and wraps up at the RIV at 8:30 p.m. The band also performs a pre-game secret performance at an undisclosed location before the official route begins. "We play a slightly different set at each bar, so if you catch us for one, follow us through the night to hear a different set at each spot," the band said.

Organizers note that the event draws more venue requests than the band can accommodate each year, and the crawl grows with a new route and expanded set list annually.
