David A. Garcia has been named Interim General Manager of Riverside Public Utilities (RPU). Garcia is a Southern California water industry veteran with over three decades of experience, having served as Assistant General Manager of Water Delivery at RPU since August 2022.
He previously held the position of Director of Water Operations at Eastern Municipal Water District in Perris and also served as Water Systems Operations Manager at RPU before taking on the position of Water Production and Regulatory Affairs Manager at Walnut Valley Water District and Water Quality Supervisor at Orange County Water District in Fountain Valley.
"David Garcia knows well the importance of RPU in the Riverside community, for our residents, businesses and institutions of higher learning," said City Manager Mike Futrell. "His deep understanding of water issues facing the region, as well as his commitment to RPU's ratepayers, make him the right person to take on this role."
