Riverside Fall Football Season Guide

Season Preview

The Riverside area football season features more than 240 games from August through December across high school boys football, girls flag football and Riverside City College. Ten local schools compete in boys football, eight field girls flag football teams, and RCC provides the area's college‑level program.

Girls flag football continues expanding locally with 35 games between Riverside schools. The sport gained California Interscholastic Federation sanctioning in 2024 as participation grows statewide. NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA conferences have adopted the sport as its popularity continues to grow, creating college scholarship opportunities for high school players. Games typically run Thursday through Monday afternoons and evenings.

RCC begins the season under new head coach Kevin Craft, who served as offensive coordinator last season when the Tigers averaged 53.9 points per game. Craft succeeds his father, Tom, who retired after 15 seasons and a 146‑22 record at RCC.

High school games cost $8 to $12 per ticket, with many schools offering season passes and family discounts. RCC tickets run $5 to $8 for adults, with free admission for children under 12.

Local football provides entertainment from Thursday flag football through Saturday college games. Whether supporting neighborhood schools or the regional college program, Riverside area football offers accessible family entertainment throughout the fall season.
