Rain? After a brutal summer, Riverside finally gets a breather. Showers move in Sunday and carry into Monday, when rain chances hit 70% and the high only reaches 64°, numbers we haven't seen in months. First rains of the season bring built-up oil to the surface, so leave extra stopping distance on Monday's commute. The warmth isn't gone for good, with highs climbing back toward 90° by Saturday, but upper 80s in mid-October feels like progress. We'll take it. 🌧️ Sunday, October 11 — 76° / 55° · Showers 🌧️ Monday, October 12 — 64° / 50° · Showers 🌤️ Tuesday, October 13 — 72° / 51° · Mostly Sunny ☀️ Wednesday, October 14 — 81° / 55° · Sunny ☀️ Thursday, October 15 — 87° / 58° · Sunny 🌤️ Friday, October 16 — 88° / 60° · Mostly Sunny ☀️ Saturday, October 17 — 89° / 62° · Sunny **Fair warning:* we're not meteorologists! Jaeger Palaver" #144 at the Mission Creek Preserve near Desert Hot Springs this weekend to hear a talk about cultural revitalization and to sleep under the stars 👻 **Amy** has been holding the Halloween inflatables hostage until the triple digits let up, and with relief finally arriving this week, they're coming out — the Downtown kids on their evening walks have waited long enough! --- ## Save the Date - Oct 10: [FREE YOGA - The Art of Vinyasa with Catherine Murray](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/free-yoga-the-art-of-vinyasa-with-catherine-murray/19503669/2026-10-10T07) at Community Yoga Center - Oct 10: [FREE YOGA - Yin Yoga with Kristin Varner](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/free-yoga-yin-yoga-with-kristin-varner/19503829/2026-10-10T09) at Community Yoga Center - Oct 10: [The Riverside Citrus Classic Bike Ride](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/the-riverside-citrus-classic-bike-ride/20029347/2026-10-10T05) at Riverside Plaza ($15- $80) - Oct 11: [FREE YOGA - The Evolution of Ashtanga with Kristin Varner](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/free-yoga-the-evolution-of-ashtanga-with-kristin-varner/19060739/2026-10-11T08) at Community Yoga Center - Oct 12: [FREE YOGA - Moody Mondays with Cherie Amour](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/free-yoga-moody-mondays-with-cherie-amour/19504166/2026-10-12T19)at Community Yoga Center - Oct 14: [FREE YOGA - Seated Yoga with Kristin Varner](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/free-yoga-seated-yoga-with-kristin-varner/19504145/2026-10-14T17) at All Saints Episcopal Church - Oct 16: [Riverside Sunrise Rotary Club Meeting](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/riverside-sunrise-rotary-club-meeting/18634391/2026-10-16T07) at Zacatecas Café - Oct 17: [14th Annual Good Neighbor Awards Dinner](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/14th-annual-good-neighbor-awards-dinner/20098563/2026-10-17T17) at The Old Spaghetti Factory ($35) - Oct 17: [Knights of Columbus Annual Italian Dinner!](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/knights-of-columbus-annual-italian-dinner/20085686/2026-10-17T18) at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church at 3680 Arlington Ave., Riverside, CA 92 ($20- $35) - Oct 17: [Spooky Music Organ Concert](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/spooky-music-organ-concert/19944423/2026-10-17T17) at First Congregational Church of Riverside ($30) - Oct 17: [Victorian Dark Carnival](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/victorian-dark-carnival/19989717/2026-10-17T12) at Heritage House - Oct 22: [Experience RUSD, Riverside Unified State of the District](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/experience-rusd-riverside-unified-state-of-the-district/19934891/2026-10-22T16) at Riverside Municipal Airport - Oct 24: [Magic Underground](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/magic-underground/20072520/2026-10-24T18) at Back to the Grind ($30- $45) - Oct 24: [Vintage Car and Warbird Show](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/vintage-car-and-warbird-show/19929956/2026-10-24T09) at Riverside Airport - Commemorative Air Force Hanger and Museum - Oct 25: [A Glorious Celebration of America at 250](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/a-glorious-celebration-of-america-at-250/19935302/2026-10-25T16) at Calvary Presbyterian Church ($15- $25) - Nov 5: [Les Miserables](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/les-miserables/20042115/2026-11-05T19) at Woodcrest Christian School ($15- $20) - Nov 7: [Art in the Gardens](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/art-in-the-gardens/18864698/2026-11-07T10) at UCR Botanic Gardens - Nov 14: [Riverside Veterans Parade](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/#/details/riverside-veterans-parade/19624354/2026-11-14T10) \- Downtown Riverside/Market St. 🗓️ [See More Events](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/calendar/)📝 [Submit Your Event](https://hub.cityspark.com/Event/Submission/Raincross?ref=raincrossgazette.com) --- 📸 [Submit a photo](http://raincrossgazette.com/submitphoto?ref=raincrossgazette.com) to be featured in our newsletters and social media accounts. 🏆 [Nominate a remarkable Riversider](https://rgnotw.paperform.co/?ref=raincrossgazette.com) as Neighbor of the Week.
