### City Council

City Council will meet in closed and open sessions on Tuesday, Mar. 25, in afternoon sessions at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and an evening session at 6:15 p.m. ([agenda](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=A&ID=1284313&GUID=BB5C684B-CC6C-44DC-B709-BBD6422A6291&ref=raincrossgazette.com)). The agenda includes:

- Approving a contract amendment that [increases pension contributions for police management positions](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=13930019&GUID=DD10207C-0F4C-4203-927D-B44388C83437&ref=raincrossgazette.com) by an additional 0.5%, saving taxpayers approximately $5,200 in the current fiscal year while helping address the City's long-term pension obligations.
- Awarding the $32.8 million construction contract for the [renovation and expansion of the Museum of Riverside](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=13930025&GUID=AF7753DC-E47F-432B-8EF5-CB06E90FC494&ref=raincrossgazette.com)'s historic 1912 building on Mission Inn Ave.
- Holding public hearings for two separate tax-exempt bonds funding campus improvements at California Baptist University and a 150-unit affordable housing development, with no financial obligations placed on the City.
- Authorizing the use of eminent domain to [acquire property needed for the construction of a railroad underpass](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=13930028&GUID=3D749AB2-27A9-488B-A4B7-35C0F48E4232&ref=raincrossgazette.com) on Third St.
- Waiving attorney-client privilege to [publicly discuss a second legal opinion](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=13930023&GUID=E23EC99E-11C0-44EB-8AFF-F67A2A22A101&ref=raincrossgazette.com) on the City's policy that exempts certain water and electric utility infrastructure projects from competitive bidding requirements, allowing in-house crews to complete system reliability and emergency response projects.
- Considering amendments to [previously authorized Cannabis Business Permit Guidelines](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/council-votes-5-2-to-legalize-retail-cannnabis-sales-in-riverside/) that would [reduce the maximum number of cannabis business permits from 14 to 7](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=13930029&GUID=6CC9F6B7-C6DE-4296-9E2E-D0FBFF68A191&ref=raincrossgazette.com), limit locations to one per ward, and require minimum distances between cannabis retail locations from one another and public parks.

### Housing and Homelessness Committee

The Housing and Homelessness Committee (Councilmembers Cervantes, Mill, and Robillard) meets on Monday, Mar. 24, at 3:30 p.m. ([agenda](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=A&ID=1284101&GUID=5BDDE817-F900-49DD-AC7C-E7A9A9F133E6&ref=raincrossgazette.com)) for a presentation from Claire Jefferson-Gilpa, Executive Director of Family Promise of Riverside, which helps families at risk of or experiencing homelessness, and a [project update from the Housing Authority](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=13925446&GUID=9EC7477F-3827-42B2-B8EE-F2D033E56202&ref=raincrossgazette.com).

### Board of Public Utilities

### Community Police Review Commission
