City Council will meet in closed and open sessions Tuesday, June 20\. Leading [the agenda](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=A&ID=1107568&GUID=D34EBB5D-4730-4B39-868F-9FFF5A0A4443&ref=raincrossgazette.com) is Chief of Police Larry Gonzalez with a presentation on the state of the police department and its $147 million budget.

The update focuses mainly on staffing diversity levels and 2022 crime statistics. RPD currently has 349 sworn officers, an increase of one since [an update in February](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/police-chief-briefs-city-board-on-state-of-rpd/), and 82 vacancies.
