### Governmental Processes Committee

The Governmental Processes Committee meets on Wednesday, August 5, at 9 a.m. ([agenda](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=A&ID=1429031&GUID=D3B50B28-4FE8-421A-BED2-6377DCA6CA20&ref=raincrossgazette.com)) to review the process for forming a [Charter Review Committee](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=15709374&GUID=2BF519F2-00E3-4374-AC7D-79DB280D2258&ref=raincrossgazette.com) — a citizen panel required every eight years to recommend potential charter amendments — with the City Council needing to decide how members will be appointed ahead of a possible March 2028 ballot measure ([item 2](https://riversideca.granicusideas.com/meetings/5414-governmental-processes-committee-art-pick-council-chamber/agenda%5Fitems/6a623ffb44253887a4001b9f-2-proposed-charter-review-committee-timeline-and?ref=raincrossgazette.com)), and [reviewing amendments](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=15709375&GUID=38850ACD-3011-42CF-AC54-B95B0B29A6CC&ref=raincrossgazette.com)adopted last year to the City Council's meeting rules — including revised meeting schedules, new time limits for council debate and updated public comment procedures ([item 3](https://riversideca.granicusideas.com/meetings/5414-governmental-processes-committee-art-pick-council-chamber/agenda%5Fitems/6a623ffb44253887a4001ba0-3-city-council-rules-of-procedures-and-order-of-b?ref=raincrossgazette.com)).

### Transportation Board

The Transportation Board meets on Wednesday, August 5, at 5:30 p.m. ([agenda](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=A&ID=1428926&GUID=08E0536D-A53F-47A8-8503-64C16A91F5A2&ref=raincrossgazette.com)) to [review an updated ranking system](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=15708130&GUID=B9BF9870-F4AD-46E5-B3A1-3C3BC3C0DB12&ref=raincrossgazette.com)used to evaluate requests for new traffic signals at unsignalized intersections, which the city says will guide future planning but does not itself authorize construction of any signals.

### Board of Ethics

The Board of Ethics meets on Thursday, August 6, at 6 p.m. ([agenda](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=A&ID=1428345&GUID=D72D8DD6-8612-4D45-9680-7D8635D5A374&ref=raincrossgazette.com)) to review the [annual assessment](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=15703319&GUID=70E9D97E-0C63-4E51-9E21-2D553FA18BE1&ref=raincrossgazette.com) of the City's Code of Ethics and Conduct, including a rule barring officials from endorsing products or services for compensation, ahead of recommendations being forwarded to the City Council's Governmental Processes Committee.
