### **City Council (Special Meeting)**

#### **Item 2: Recruitment of new city manager**

On Thursday, June 2, the council will discuss in a closed session whether to initiate a search for a new city manager to replace the current city manager, Al Zelinka, who will leave the position on June 3.

### **Board of Ethics**

#### **Items 3, 4 and 5: Code of ethics and complaint procedures**

In these items, the assistant city attorney will present training materials to the board of ethics members on the board’s own code of ethics and complaint procedures; discuss situations in which outside counsel is retained to advise board members instead of the city attorney, and compare Riverside’s ethics codes and complaint procedures with those of other cities.

### **Inclusiveness, Community Engagement and Governmental Processes Committee**

#### **Item 2: Revision of City Council procedures**

Staff will provide a summary of recommendations to the committee about the city council’s rules of procedure and order of business, the preparation and distribution of packet materials, the public comment process, and a revised review schedule. The presentation is scheduled to last approximately 20 minutes.

#### **Item 3: Revised procedure for city board vacancies**

The committee will hear recommendations from staff about revising how the city currently handles vacancies on different city boards, including the Community Police Review Commission, Board of Ethics, Planning Commission and the Board of Public Utilities.
