Lancers go to Westwood as underdogs looking to slay the giant UCLA Bruins on Saturday Night in the first round of the NCAA [Women’s Basketball Tournament](https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/bracket?ref=raincrossgazette.com). Neither team has won an NCAA title, but the Bruins have been a fixture in the competition. The Lancers will be playing in the tournament for the first time. This will also be the first time the two teams will face each other.

UCLA goes in as the second seed in the region, and the Lancers are ranked fifteenth. The Bruins are heavy favorites, but CBU has some amazing talent led by Chloe Webb, who earned the WAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player Award in the Lancers’ run to win the conference’s only bid to advance. The Cubs and the Braves have been competing against each other in Riverside High School sports for many decades.
