### **Women’s Sports**

Women’s sports are having a moment. The NCAA Women’s Basketball Championships, fueled by Caitlin Clark’s historic season, drew record ratings. The United States Women’s Soccer team had a *return-to-form* win in penalty kicks in the She Believes Cup over emerging rival Canada. Nine-year-old Dakota Watson won the hearts of Americans by making three incredible putts at the Masters in an exhibition match with her dad Bubba.

### **Softball**

In local news, Poly High School Softball ladies are on a tear. With only a few games left before post-season play, the Bears have a 22-1-1 record and are ranked sixth in the state. Senior shortstop and team captain Corina Jaimes has accrued a .519 batting average and seven home runs this season. Congratulations, and we will follow up on what we all hope is a deep run in the CIF playoffs.
