A concern about city spending may belong with the City Council, but a councilmember cannot personally direct the employee responsible for fixing a street or delivering a city service. Designing Better. Measuring What Matters." - RCOE Superintendent Edwin Gomez said the theme reflects the same mission RCOE set for the first conference. **What's new:** Featured keynote speakers include author Tommie Mabry, former superintendent Candy Singh, bilingual speaker Ernesto Mejia and actor Tony Plana. **By the numbers:** Educators from **18 school districts**, three counties, and multiple charter schools, colleges and universities have registered. - The two-day event also includes student performances, wellness activities and a scavenger hunt. **What they're saying:** Gomez said the conference should push schools to "imagine new ways to serve" students.
