**California Baptist Lancers vs Cal Poly Mustangs**

The weekend's marquee matchup has the Lancers welcoming the defending Big West Conference champions to their award-winning soccer facility. CBU enters riding a perfect 2-0 start to the season, fueled by the outstanding play of fresh arrival Liam Jones, who earned WAC Player of the Week honors after his stellar opening performances. The West Ham Academy product, fresh off the plane from England, has made an immediate impact for the Lancers with his technical ability and Premier League-level training showing through in crucial moments.

Cal Poly brings championship pedigree as the 2024 Big West Conference regular season champions, their first conference title in program history. The Mustangs dominated defensively last season, ranking second nationally with a goals-against average of just 0.676 per game. This matchup features two programs with strong traditions and should provide fans with high-level junior college football action in an incredible historic football venue at Wheelock Field.
