“Winner, winner, chicken dinner!” Fans of the chicken sandwich will be cheering if the Planning Commission approves the Conditional Use Permit and Design Review for a new Chick-fil-a drive-thru only restaurant this morning.

The [project plans](https://riversideca.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=11559271&GUID=13738557-8C2A-4509-80A9-6E655E1C8756&ref=raincrossgazette.com) detail a 2,930-square-foot restaurant on 1.36-acres in the corner of the Citrus Landing shopping center. Stater Bros. Market [opened their newest store](https://www.raincrossgazette.com/gateway-to-riverside-shopping-center-has-a-new-look-and-name-citrus-landing/) on the site of the former K-Mart, at the corner of Van Buren and Arlington Avenues in September 2022\. Locals familiar with the dinner hour traffic challenges at the Central Avenue entrance Chick-fil-a across from the Riverside Plaza will be pleased to see plans which accommodate 31 vehicles at a time in the double drive-thru lanes.
