# Council set to reshape Riverside

This week’s City Council meeting may bring a conclusion to the conversation occupying much of the public discussion in recent months: reshaping the Riverside’s council ward map boundaries. The City began[ a required review of ward boundaries](https://raincrossgazette.com/2022/08/30/city-begins-redistricting-process-encourages-resident-involvement/?ref=raincrossgazette.com) in August 2022 through a process dubbed: [Reshape Riverside](https://riversideca.gov/cityclerk/reshape-riverside?ref=raincrossgazette.com).

Tomorrow night council will review four variations of a boundary map dubbed “A4” which is based on the existing Ward map with minimal neighborhood splits. The FAIR MAPS Act requires wards of relatively equal population size that share common simple borders (rivers, streets, highways, etc.) and maintain “communities of interest”.
